Effective DMA lab exercises to prepare for the MAT classroom LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Many MAT courses in our system use lab exercises. We will work through some labs we have implemented in DMA to help our students prepare for MAT. We will discuss the pros and cons of labs and work through some examples. You will walk away with a lab ready to go for each module.

Labs have become a great way to assess students throughout the module to make sure that they are effectively meeting SLO's. They are useful to students in different ways: understanding vocabulary, learning new concepts, applying concepts, reviewing material before the final and more!

I grew up and got my Bachelor and Master degrees in Maine. I taught high school for seven years (5 in Maine and 2 in Asheville). I've been in the area (Asheville) for four years. I taught as an adjunct and tutored at AB Tech for most of that time but this past year I was hired on as a full time DMA instructor. My husband and I have two fantastic boys (7 mths and almost 3) so we are busy and I may be tired!
